BI-ANNUAL SCHEDULING

Assyfa Journal of Islamic Studies

Detailed Periodicity, Editorial Workflow, and Archiving Statement

Publication Periodicity Policy

Assyfa Journal of Islamic Studies (AJIS) is committed to the timely dissemination of scholarly research while maintaining the highest standards of academic rigor. The journal is published twice a year (bi-annually), with formal issues released in June and December. This intentional frequency allows our editorial board and international peer reviewers sufficient time to conduct thorough evaluations, ensuring that every published article contributes a significant advancement to the discourse on Islamic education, law, philosophy, and society.

The Journey to Publication

Submission Phase

Open 365 days a year. Authors are encouraged to submit via the OJS portal to initiate the initial desk review by the Editor-in-Chief.

Peer Review

Double-blind review process. Articles are typically reviewed by at least two independent experts in the specific subject area.

Revision & Editing

Authors work closely with the editorial team to address reviewer comments, followed by professional copyediting and layouting.

Final Publication

Articles are assigned DOIs and published in the June or December issue, with immediate inclusion in global indexes.

20%
Acceptance Rate

Strategic Selectivity

AJIS operates with a selective 20% acceptance rate. This high threshold ensures that our bi-annual frequency is defined by the quality of contribution rather than quantity. By focusing on only the top quintile of submissions, we ensure that our readers—including researchers, students, and policymakers—receive only the most innovative and methodologically sound insights into Islamic studies.

Online First & Early Access Policy

Recognizing the urgency of research findings, AJIS employs an "Online First" policy. Once a manuscript has been fully peer-reviewed, accepted, and layouted, it is published online in our "In-Press" or "Early Access" section. These articles are citable using their unique Digital Object Identifier (DOI) even before they are formally compiled into the June or December volume. This practice bridges the gap between scientific discovery and public access.
