General Principles

Assyfa Journal of Islamic Studies (AJIS) welcomes original research articles and conceptual studies that contribute significantly to the field of Islamic Studies. We emphasize rigorous methodology, clear argumentation, and innovative perspectives. By submitting to AJIS, authors attest that the work is original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not currently under consideration by any other journal or media platform.

Online Submission Workflow

Initial Registration

Prospective authors must first register through our OJS Portal. Ensure you select the "Author" role during registration. A confirmation email will be sent containing your credentials.

Manuscript Sanitization

AJIS employs a Double-Blind Peer Review. Authors must ensure all identifying information (names, affiliations, or self-citations that reveal identity) is removed from the initial submission file.

Metadata & Upload

Log in and proceed to "New Submission." Complete all metadata fields (Title, Abstract, Keywords, and List of Contributors) accurately. Upload your manuscript in .docx format.

Detailed Manuscript Structure

01. Title & Abstract

Title: Maximum 16 words, Book Antiqua 14pt, All Caps, Bold. It must be specific and informative.
Abstract: 150-200 words in English. It must strictly follow the structured format: Background → Objective → Method → Findings/Discussion → Novelty → Conclusion. Book Antiqua 10pt, single spacing.

02. Introduction & Literature Review

The introduction must clearly state the research gap and the urgency of the study. A comprehensive literature review should be integrated to establish the current state of knowledge and demonstrate how this work provides a new contribution (Originality Statement).

03. Methods & Data Analysis

Authors must describe the materials, participants, instruments, and procedures in detail. For qualitative studies, mention the approach (e.g., Phenomenology, Case Study). For quantitative studies, specify the statistical tools and sampling techniques.

04. Result, Discussion & Visuals

Results should be presented objectively. Discussion must interpret these results by comparing them with previous research findings. Tables/Figures: All visual aids must be numbered consecutively and cited in the text. Use APA 6th style for captions (Table heading above, Figure caption below).

05. References (APA 7th)

AJIS requires a minimum of 30 references.
  • 80% of references must be from scientific journals published within the last 10 years.
  • Digital Object Identifiers (DOI) must be included for all relevant sources.
  • Non-English sources must have a translated title: Al-Ghazali, A. (2020). Ihya' Ulumuddin [The Revival of Religious Sciences]. Publisher.

Peer-Review Policy

Initial Screening

Every submitted article is checked for scope alignment and similarity. If similarity exceeds 20% or the quality is poor, the Editor will decline the manuscript immediately.

Blind Review

Articles are sent to at least two experts in the relevant field. Reviewers evaluate novelty, methodology, and clarity. The final decision (Accept, Revision, or Reject) rests with the Editorial Board.
