Statement of Open Access

Assyfa Journal of Islamic Studies (AJIS) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal. In line with our mission to advance the global understanding of Islamic studies, we provide immediate and permanent gold open access to all published content. This means that all articles are free to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles immediately upon publication.

Our policy is built upon the definition of Open Access as established by the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI). We believe that by making research freely available to the public, we support a greater global exchange of knowledge and foster innovation within the academic community.

To ensure the long-term accessibility and preservation of digital scientific knowledge, AJIS utilizes the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and CLOCKSS initiatives. We allow and encourage authors to archive the Version of Record (VoR)—the final, peer-reviewed, and typeset version—in their institutional repositories or on personal websites immediately upon publication. Metadata is also cross-archived through DOI services to guarantee persistence.
