Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan bagaimana pengaruh pemanfataan media loose parts dalam meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif anak usia 5-6 tahun yang mencangkup memecahkan masalah, berfikir logis, berfikir kreatif, dan mengenal simbol di Paud SuryaKasih Rawa Bebek kelompok TK B. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Penelitian ini menggunakan model Kemmis dan Taggart dimana setiap siklusnya mengikuti langkah sistematis sesuai dengan kaidah – kaidah penelitian dan kebutuhan parameter penelitian. Tahapan – tahapan penelitian meliputi:(1) perencanaan, (2)tindakan, (3)pengamatan, dan (4)refleksi. Sebelum melakukan penelitian, diadakan penelitian pra tindakan untuk mengetahui hasil presentase awal meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif anak. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Kemampuan kognitif anak dapat meningkat setelah menggunakan media loose parts. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil penelitian kemampuan awal kognitif anak kelompok B rata-rata 34,97%. Setelah dilakukan tindakan kelas pada Siklus I meningkat menjadi 55,45% dan pada tindakan Siklus II meningkat menjadi 83,45%. Peningkatan dari Pra Penelitian ke Siklus 2 sebesar 48,48%. Media loose parts cukup efektif memberikan inspirasi dalam bermain pada anak usia dini. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah memperdalam dan memperkaya wawasan bermain menggunakan pemanfaatan media loose parts untuk meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif anak usia 5-6 tahun.
