ASSYFA LEARNING JOURNAL

Publication’s Ethics Statement

Transparency, ethical editorial practice, and accountability in scholarly publishing.

Statement of Commitment

Assyfa Learning Journal, published by CV. Bimbingan Belajar Assyfa, is committed to responsible scholarly publishing, independent editorial judgement, rigorous peer review, transparency, and the integrity of the scholarly record. This statement is organised in accordance with the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing, developed jointly by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), DOAJ, OASPA, and WAME.

Its provisions apply to published research, other scholarly contributions, and any special or supplementary content, as relevant. Editorial decisions are based on scholarly quality and ethical compliance, not the authors’ nationality, institutional affiliation, religion, political views, or personal characteristics.

Reference to COPE guidance does not imply that Assyfa Learning Journal is a COPE member, endorsed by COPE, or indexed by any particular database.

Publication Ethics and Transparency Policies

Name of the Journal

Assyfa Learning Journal is identified consistently by its full title on the journal website, article landing pages, publication records, and official communications. The journal shall not imply a relationship with an indexing service, association, institution, or publisher that has not been formally established.

Related policies: Journal home

Journal Website, Aims, Scope, and Submissions

Assyfa Learning Journal maintains a publicly accessible journal website and aims to provide accurate, current, and non-misleading information. Its scholarly focus is the integration of disciplinary and professional expertise with innovative instructional design, pedagogy, curriculum, technology-enhanced learning, assessment, and measurable learning outcomes. Authors should consult the stated scope, eligible manuscript types, authorship standards, and submission instructions before submitting. Manuscripts must be original and must not be under consideration elsewhere.

Publishing Schedule

Assyfa Learning Journal publicly identifies its publication frequency and strives to publish according to its announced schedule. Significant changes or unavoidable delays should be communicated transparently to readers and authors. Publication dates should be accurately recorded on published content.

Related policies: Publication Frequency | Issue archive

Archiving and Digital Preservation

The journal should describe its arrangements for secure electronic backup, record retention, preservation of published articles and metadata, and long-term access if the current hosting platform or publisher ceases operation. Any named preservation service must be identified only when participation is established; ordinary website backups should not be represented as certified long-term preservation.

Related policies: Digital Preservation

Copyright

The copyright owner and permitted rights must be clear on the journal website and on the full text of each article, including PDF files. Authors must have permission to reproduce third-party material and must disclose relevant rights and permissions. Copyright in an article must be distinguished from copyright in the journal website.

Related policies: Copyright Notice | Intellectual Property Policy

Licensing and Reuse

Assyfa Learning Journal supports open access and transparent reuse rights. The CC BY-SA 4.0 (Creative Commons Attribution–ShareAlike 4.0 International) notice appears on sampled article landing pages. Under this licence, copying, redistribution and adaptation, including commercial uses, are permitted with proper attribution and ShareAlike licensing for adapted material. Some earlier article PDFs display CC BY-NC 4.0 instead. The licence applicable to each previously published article must therefore be checked against the article’s original rights information and author agreement; rights must not be changed retroactively without appropriate authorisation. For future publications, the journal should ensure its author agreement, website policies, article landing pages and PDF notices consistently state the approved licence.

Publication Ethics and Editorial Integrity

Assyfa Learning Journal applies ethical responsibilities to authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher. Editorial assessment must be fair, confidential, independent, and based on scholarly merit. Plagiarism, fabricated or falsified data, manipulated citations, redundant or simultaneous submissions, undisclosed competing interests and misleading authorship are unacceptable. Complaints and allegations should be documented, assessed impartially, and addressed with appropriate opportunities for explanation. Research involving human participants must meet relevant ethics approval, informed consent, and privacy requirements. Detailed policies below specify the main editorial obligations and responses.

Peer Review

Research manuscripts admitted to external review undergo the double-blind process described by Assyfa Learning Journal. The journal’s existing policy describes assessment by two external reviewers, with editorial assessment of their recommendations. Reviewers should be appropriately qualified, independent, timely, and free from conflicts of interest. Manuscripts and reviewer reports are confidential; the editor retains responsibility for the final editorial decision. Any exceptions for non-research content must be identified clearly. The journal does not guarantee acceptance.

Access to Content

Assyfa Learning Journal makes its published scholarly content accessible through its journal platform under its stated open-access arrangements. Any restriction, registration requirement, print charge, or additional access condition should be disclosed plainly. Open access to articles does not itself determine the licence; the applicable reuse rights must be stated separately.

Related policies: Open Access Policy

Ownership and Management

The journal identifies its publisher as CV. Bimbingan Belajar Assyfa. Ownership, operating responsibility, management, affiliated organisations, and any sponsorship should be disclosed accurately. No relationship with professional bodies or indexing services should be suggested without evidence.

Assyfa Learning Journal should maintain an editorial board and/or advisory body of qualified scholars whose expertise corresponds to the journal scope. Public information should give each member’s full name and institutional affiliation, be kept current, and reflect the individual’s agreement to serve. Editorial appointments and responsibilities should support independence and impartial decisions.

Author Fees and Waivers

Assyfa Learning Journal publishes its submission and publication charges, any additional service fees, the payment stage, and applicable exceptions on its Article Processing Charge page. Authors must be informed of all charges before submitting. Any fee waiver or reduction and the applicable criteria should be explained clearly. Payments or fee eligibility must not influence independent peer review, editorial decisions, or post-publication integrity actions. For current amounts, consult the official APC page rather than relying on figures reproduced elsewhere.

Related policies: Article Processing Charge | Author Fee

Other Revenue and Editorial Independence

The journal should clearly explain its business model and material revenue streams, such as author charges, subsidies, sponsorship, advertising, reprints, or special issues where applicable. Revenue relationships must not influence manuscript selection, peer-review outcomes, corrections, or publication decisions.

Related policies: Revenue Sources

Advertising

The journal should state whether it accepts advertising. If it does, it should disclose who decides on advertisements, the types permitted, and whether placement is linked to content or reader behaviour. Advertisements must be distinguishable from scholarly content, and advertisers must not influence editorial decisions.

Related policies: Advertising Policy

Direct Marketing

Calls for papers and other solicitations should be accurate, appropriately targeted, respectful, and not misleading. Assyfa Learning Journal must not make unsupported claims about indexing, acceptance, review speed, impact metrics, or affiliations. Marketing activities must remain separate from editorial decision-making.

Related policies: Direct Marketing Policy

Authorship and Contributorship

Authorship should reflect substantial scholarly contributions and accountability for the manuscript. The corresponding author must ensure that all named authors approve submission, that contributor roles and funding are accurately declared, and that changes to authorship are supported by a sound explanation and agreement of relevant parties. Guest, gift, and ghost authorship are unacceptable.

Related policies: Related policy: Authorship and Contributorship

Complaints and Appeals

Authors, reviewers, and readers may submit substantiated concerns to the editorial office. The journal should acknowledge the complaint, review relevant evidence, provide a fair opportunity for response, manage conflicts of interest, and communicate an appropriately reasoned outcome. Appeals should be considered by a person not responsible for the contested decision where practicable.

Related policies: Related policy: Complaints and Appeals

Allegations of Research Misconduct

Suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabricated or falsified data, manipulated citations, unethical research conduct, and other serious breaches must be assessed proportionately. The editorial team should document concerns, preserve confidentiality, seek explanations and supporting evidence, and, where appropriate, consult relevant institutions. Following the review, action may include rejection, correction, expression of concern, or retraction as warranted.

Related policies: Related policy: Allegations of Research Misconduct

Conflicts of Interest

Authors must declare relevant financial and non-financial competing interests and funding. Editors and reviewers must disclose relationships that might impair their impartiality and recuse themselves when necessary. Potential conflicts do not automatically establish wrongdoing; they require disclosure and appropriate management.

Related policies: Related policy: Conflicts of Interest

Data Sharing and Reproducibility

Authors should describe data sources, research instruments, analytic procedures, and any relevant restrictions on sharing. Where ethical, lawful, and feasible, underlying data and materials should be made accessible or their availability should be explained. Participant confidentiality and legal obligations take priority over indiscriminate data release.

Related policies: Related policy: Data Sharing and Reproducibility

Ethical Oversight

Research involving human participants, personal data, or vulnerable groups must follow applicable law and institutional requirements, including ethics review and informed consent when required. Authors should report ethical approval or justify a valid exemption, and explain privacy safeguards. Editorial staff may request relevant supporting documentation.

Related policies: Related policy: Ethical Oversight

Intellectual Property

All contributors must respect copyright, attribution, licences, permissions, and intellectual-property rights in texts, instruments, tables, figures, images, and datasets. Unauthorised reproduction or misleading ownership claims may lead to editorial action.

Related policies: Related policy: Intellectual Property

Post-Publication Discussion

Readers may communicate substantive scholarly concerns or corrections to the editorial office. Relevant, evidence-based criticism should be considered fairly and may result in author responses, corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions, as appropriate. Responses should preserve an accurate, transparent scholarly record.

Related policies: Related policy: Post-Publication Discussion

Corrections, Expressions of Concern, and Retractions

Material errors affecting interpretation or integrity should be handled with an appropriate and traceable public notice. Corrections should describe the amendment; retractions should state the reason and remain linked to the original record. A notice of concern may be used while serious unresolved questions remain.

Related policies: Related policy: Corrections, Expressions of Concern, and Retractions

Generative Artificial Intelligence

Generative AI tools cannot be listed as authors or replace human accountability. Authors should transparently disclose substantive use of AI tools, verify all claims and references, protect confidential or personal data, and avoid fabricated content. Editors and reviewers must not disclose confidential submitted manuscripts to external AI systems without appropriate safeguards and permission. The journal should publish detailed instructions governing disclosure and assessment.

Related policies: Related policy: Generative Artificial Intelligence

Editorial Correspondence and Publication Ethics Enquiries

Questions, complaints, appeals, and potential publication-ethics concerns may be directed to the Assyfa Learning Journal editorial office through the official contact page. Relevant evidence should be provided so concerns can be evaluated fairly and confidentially.
