Assyfa Journal of Farming and Agriculture Vol. 1 No. 1 (2023), this inaugural issue features 5 papers from 16 unique authors, representing 7 countries (Indonesia, China, UAE, Afghanistan, Jamaica, etc.) and 11 institutions. This issue highlights waste utilization (biochar and bioplastics from food waste), ecosystem protection (mangrove studies in Java/Tapanuli), and peanut disease management. The findings show great potential in bioplastics and biochar for agriculture, but the main gaps are the lack of long-term trials and analysis of bioplastic production costs and weak policy support for mangrove conservation.
