The April issue of the International Journal of Biological Sciences and Biotechnology Research actually published five papers featuring a total of six authors from four different affiliations in three countries. This special issue focused on integrating advanced molecular mechanisms—including the circELP2 circular RNA feedback loop, the pathophysiology of TM4SF5-KEAP1-CD36 at MASH, and the TNFR2 signaling pathway—into interactive educational media and comprehensive Semester Lesson Plans (SLPs) for biotechnology students. Current trends emphasize the use of digital visualization and research-based curriculum innovations to simplify complex and abstract protein-protein interactions. However, a critical research gap remains regarding the need for full-scale implementation of empirical trials measuring the direct impact of these SLPs on students' retention of practical laboratory knowledge.
